As a research and development department, we are solving tomorrow’s problems today, convinced that AI must and will be an indispensable part of future medicine. As an interdisciplinary team, we combine all the necessary perspectives, surpassing the expertise of a single person many times over, and thus finding an answer to every question - together.

Our research does not aspire to be rocket science but rather to create tangible benefits in medicine through our research approaches and new technologies.

Normally you would now see a comprehensive list of 25 technologies, that we expect you to be 25 years old and to have 15 years of experience in the field of machine learning and apart from that shut up and just do your work. 😉

Unfortunately, we don't think that this is the way to attract the best talents.

So let's try something else:

• You are a software engineer with an advanced degree in computer science, machine learning, data science or a related MINT degree. Furthermore, you need to have good understanding of technologies such as Python, Docker, Linux. You should also be familiar with frameworks such as PyTorch and have hands-on experience training deep neural networks on multi-GPU systems.
• You can read research papers in the area of machine learning, specifically image classification, sufficiently good to apply state-of-the art methods in your daily work. Attention mechanisms are not a foreign concept to you.
• You don’t shy away to work closely with experts spanning different fields.
• You possess knowledge in probability theory, linear algebra and statistics to understand how data impacts model performance and are able to properly interpret model results to improve upon.
• You should have experience in analyzing AI edge cases and translate wrong model decisions into architectural changes.

• You have a self-starter mentality and you want to push the boundaries every single day.
• You are not afraid to occupy a key position in the team and work on various aspects of the AI stack from data preprocessing, designing the model architectures to deployment.
• You find the right balance between perfectionism and pragmatism and you understand that it's not only about perfect code, but also about running and growing a business.
• Programming languages and frameworks are a tool for you to achieve a goal. And they might change over time. Our current tech stack consists of (PyTorch, MlFlow, PyTorchLightning, MMCV, RayTune).
• You live the principle of constant learning and you are able to quickly adapt to new technologies, tools and market situations.
• As the data we work with (medical diseases, symptoms of the patients etc.) are available in German and for an interdisciplinary exchange within the AI-Team it is necessary that you have a very good knowledge of German, at least B2.
